Simona Halep defeated Serena Williams to claim the women’s singles of the All England’s Championship at Wimbledon.
Halep became the first from her Country Romania to win the Wimbledon title after beating American giant Serena Williams 6-2 6-2 in a match that ended within 55 minutes.
The Romanian has now won her second grand slam ever following her French Open title in 2018. This is the second time that Halep has won Williams in 11 meetings.
Williams who is a Wimbledon seven-time champions has now fallen to defeat in her third straight grand slam finals for the first time ever in her career. She will have to wait for another tournament probably the US Open which will hold next month to equal 24 single grand slam titles.
