The ban will however not stop Russia from competing at the Euro 2020, with St Petersburg one of the host cities. UEFA is not considered a major organisation in regards to anti-doping rules.
The ban resulted after Rusada (Russia’s Anti-Doping Agency) were seen to be non-compliant for having manipulated laboratory data that was sent to investigators early this year, January 2019 to be precise.
Wada has given Rusada 21 days to appeal this decision which if they do, will be referred to court of Arbitration for Sport.
