A wonderful morning to all our readers out there, it’s time to check out the results of the football matches played yesterday Saturday August 8, 2020
Robert Lewandowski was on fire for Bayern Munich last night as the German side trashed Chelsea 4-1 at the Allianz Arena to secure a 7-1 aggregate victory having won the first leg 3-0 at the Stamford Bridge in March.
Lewandowski scored twice and assisted the remaining two goals for Ivan Perisic and Corentin Tolisso to score. Chelsea did score through Tammy Abraham but it wasn’t anywhere enough for the Frank Lampard’s side.

Bayern Munich have been excellent since manager Hansi Flick was appointed very late last year as they look to secure a treble this season after already winning the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal.
Chelsea, on the other hand, need to brace themselves up for next season after conceding as much as 79 goals in a total of 55 matches this season. This means they were conceding 1.44 goals per game, their worst record since 1990-91 season. The good thing about their campaign is that they finished in the top four and qualified for the Champions League, they must definitely play differently come next season.
Bayern Munich moved into the quarterfinals where they will play against Barcelona who defeated Napoli 3-1 on the night and eventually 4-2 on aggregate.

Clement Lenglet, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez all scored for the Camp Nou side within the first 45 minutes and Lorenzo Insigne reduced the scoreline just before the break.
The second-half saw Napoli create different chances but it wasn’t to be their night as they crashed out on 4-2 aggregate having played 1-1 in the first leg.
It’s going to be a massive quarter-final between Barcelona and Bayern Munich in a one-leg match on neutral ground in Portugal next week Friday, August 14, 2020. These are two giants that have shaken European football in the past and it’s not going to be any different this time around.
