Genoa survived relegation battled and confirmed their stay in the Serie A after their nine-man side defeated 10-man Hellas Verona 3-0 as Leece who lost 4-3 against Parma were relegated.
Genoa secured the victory thanks to a brace from Antonio Sanabria and another goal from Cristian Romero, all scored in the first half. Romero was later sent off in the second-half before Verona star Sofyan Amrabat and Genoa star Francesco Cassata both got sent off just before the end of the match.
Genoa who are the oldest professional football club in Italy finished the season with 39 points in 17th, four points ahead of Leece who joined Brescia and SPAL in relegation.
