A wonderful morning to all our readers out there, it’s time to check out the results of the football matches played yesterday Saturday August 1, 2020
It’s no longer news, right? Yes, we know. Arsenal secured their 14th FA Cup trophy and a place in the Europa League next season after beating 10-man Chelsea 2-1 in a match that ended in controversy.
The Gunners were behind as early as the fifth minutes after Christian Pulisic gave Chelsea the lead from Olivier Giroud’s pass. Arsenal made their statement before half-time thanks to skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal from the penalty spot after he was brought down in the box by Chelsea’s skipper Cesar Azpilicueta.

Aubameyang scored the second with a brilliant finish following an outburst run from Hector Bellerin and a pass from Nicolas Pepe. The goal secured the winner before midfielder Mateo Kovacic was controversially sent off for a foul on Granit Xhaka.
Chelsea struggled with injury as Azpilicueta, Pulisic and Pedro all had to be taken off the pitch and they are all likely to miss Chelsea’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich.
It wasn’t a brilliant season for Arsenal having changed managers following the sack of Unai Emery. They finished eighth on the Premier League table but the FA Cup win will take them into the Europa League next season and they should one way or the other be glad about their season.

Chelsea’s season wasn’t bad either, though they would have been happier with a FA Cup triumph. They finished fourth on the Premier League table and this means they will have a place in the Champions League next season.
Kudos to both side, though the match was not really the final we all expected, considering performances, it was good enough for Arsenal to secure the victory.
In Serie A…
It was the final match of the Serie A season as Juventus lift the trophy for the ninth consecutive seasons despite losing 3-1 to Roma. They finished 83 points as Gonzalo Higuain’s goal was not enough to stop Roma from scoring through Nikola Kalinic and a brace from Diego Perotti. Roma finished with 70 points, fifth on the table.

Juventus could only finish one point above second Inter Milan who ended Atalanta’s 19 games unbeaten run with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Danilo D’Ambrosio and Ashley Young. Atalanta finished third with 78 points, level on points with fourth Lazio who lost 3-1 against Napoli.
Ciro Immobile scored his 36th goal of the season, equalling Gonzalo Higuain’s 36 goals in a single season, a record set in 2015/16 season. Immobile won the highest goalscorer award in the Serie A as well as in Europe but his goal couldn’t stop Napoli from coming out triumphant. Fabian Ruiz was on the score sheet, Insigne and Matteo Politano also scored to give Gennaro Gattuso’s side their victory as they finished the season seventh with 62 points, four points behind sixth AC Milan.

Milan defeated Cagliari 3-0 to maintain their unbeaten record since the restart. Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw his penalty saved but that still didn’t stop him from scoring his 10th Serie A goal of the season having only joined in January, becoming the oldest player in the competition’s history to score at least 10 goals in a Serie A season. Ragnar Klavan scored an own goal and Samu Castillejo also got on the score sheet.
AC Milan will go into the qualifying rounds of the Europa League after finishing sixth with 66 points.
