A wonderful morning to you all as we check out the results of the football matches played yesterday Saturday November 9, 2019
Lionel Messi scored his 34th La Liga hat-trick to maintain Barcelona’s position at the top of the table following a 4-1 victory over Celta Vigo.
The Argentine scored two wonderful free-kicks and a penalty to singlehandedly help the Camp Nou side win the match. Sergio Busquet scored the fourth go for Barcelona as Lucas Olaza’s free-kick goal for Celta Vigo could not go any way to help them.
Real Madrid are second on the table, level on points with Barcelona after thrashing Eibar 4-0 thanks to a brace from Karim Benzema and a goal each from Sergio Ramos and Federico Valverde.
The two top giants stand on 25 points separated by goal difference with Barcelona having a goal difference of 18 and Real Madrid 16.
Bayern Munich thrashed Borussia Dortmund 4-0 as Robert Lewandowski scored a brace. Serge Gnabry also scored one while Mat Hummels scored an own goal to give the Allianz Arena side a convincing win. They moved to third with 21 points, one point behind first Borussia Mönchengladbach who have a game in hand. Dortmund meanwhile are fifth with 19 points.
Lewandowski has now scored 16 goals from 11 Bundesliga matches so far this season, breaking Gerd Muller’s record of 15 goals in the first 11 games 51 years ago. Thomas Müller also hit a milestone of 100 assists in Bundesliga since data is being taken. This is more than any other player during that time.
Leicester City moved to second on the Premier League table after convincingly beating Arsenal 2-0 thanks to goals from Jamie Vardy and James Maddison. Arsenal were lacklustre as usual without sense of direction or style of play which saw them mount only one shot on target and also their worst start to the Premier League season since 1982/83 with 17 points and -1 goal difference after 12 matches so far this season.
Leicester have a total of 26 points from 12 matches so far this season, their best tally in the Premier League history at this stage, that’s one more than they gathered in their title winning campaign in 2015/16 season after 12 matches.
Arsenal moved to sixth with 17 points, level on points with Sheffield United who stand fifth after securing a draw against Tottenham thanks to an equalising goal from George Baldock after Heung-min Son had given the Spurs the lead. Tottenham now have 14 points and are on 12th position on the log.
Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 to move to third on the table with 26 points thanks to goals from Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic.
