It’s no longer news that Tottenham have disengaged Mauricio Pochettino from his managerial position at the club after a poor start to the season which see them stand 14th on the Premier League table and 20 points behind table leaders Liverpool.
Pochettino joined the North London club in May 2014 and led them to League Cup final in his first season as well as the Champions League final against Liverpool last season.
The Argentine had to bring the club to another level and stayed with them even when they refused to spend on any player due to their stadium renovation which took a lot of money away from them and as a result they played their home matches at Wembley for 18 months.
His coaching staff, Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino and Antoni Jimenez have also all being sacked.
There are however immediate rumours linking former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho to the club though it’s difficult to decipher that the Portuguese man will join a club who will refuse to spend huge amount of money. It remains to be seen who will replace Pochettino at Tottenham.
Juventus have confirmed that centre-back Leonardo Bonucci has signed a new deal with the club until 2024. Bonucci has made a total of 376 appearances for the club he joined in 2010 though he was out for a season when he left for AC Milan in 2017. He has now signed an extension of one more year which has brought his deal to expire in 2024.
It has also been confirmed that Juventus have reached contract agreements with duo Wojciech Szczesny and Juan Cuadrado.
