A wonderful morning to you all as we check out the results of the football matches played yesterday Thursday December 5, 2019
Arsenal were beaten 2-1 by Brighton in front of their fans yesterday as misery pile up on the Emirates Stadium side.
Interim manager Freddie Ljungberg lost his first home match and is yet to win in any game in charge following a 2-2 draw against Norwich last weekend.
Adam Webster gave Brighton the lead in the 36th minute before Alexandre Lacazette equalised in the 50th minute. Brighton however had another idea as Neal Maupay scored the winning goal in the 80th minute of the match and the Gunners had no answers to that, failing to win any of their last nine matches in all competitions, their worst run since March 1977 when they failed to win any of certain 10 matches back then.
The Emirates side are still on 19 points and 10th in position, 10 points behind fourth Chelsea. Brighton meanwhile have 18 points and are in 13th position.
This is the first time Brighton have beat any of the ‘big six’ away from home in 17 attempts having lost 15 of the previous 16.
The Gunners have allowed 52 shots on target against opposition teams in the Premier League home matches this season. They only allowed 48 at home all season during their invincible season in 2003/04.
Arsenal have conceded first in nine Premier League matches so far this season, only Norwich have conceded more first with 10 matches.
