Luka Modric has claimed the 2018 Ballon d’or award ahead of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi- with the first five in that order.
This is the first time since 10 years that either of Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi will not win the award and perhaps it’s the beginning of another era in the world of football.
