The 26-year-old who captained and led Lyon to a scintillating run of the Champions League semi-final where they were cut short after losing 3-0 to Bayern Munich has drawn interest from Barcelona and a move is likely to occur due to Memphis Depay’s intentions that was made known to the press after his heroics in Lyon’s victory over Dijon.

The forward has a good rapport with Ronald Koeman who was his boss at the Netherlands National Team and he is now the new manager of Barcelona. Koeman is much interested in the signature of his compatriot as his new team needs a summer rebuild.
The player will most likely add quality and squad depth to a Catalan team that needs reconfiguration and fresh legs. Depay has so far scored 41 goals in 103 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon since in signed for them in the 2016/2017 season.
