Good morning to all our readers out there, it’s time to check out the latest news in the football world today Wednesday August 5, 2020
Fulham confirmed their place in the Premier League next season after getting promoted following their 2-1 extra-time victory over Brentford in the play-off final thanks to a brace from Joe Bryan. The match ended 0-0 after 90 minutes but Bryan had some other ideas in extra time to score twice for his side. Henrik Dalsgaard scored a consolation goal in the dying minute of the second half of extra time but it was not enough to secure anything.
Fulham join Leeds United and West Brom as the three promoted sides to the Premier League. Fulham spent only one season in the Championship before returning under manager Scott Parker. Brentford, on the other hand, will have to continue to wait having waited for 73 without Premier League promotion. They’ve had nine attempts in the playoff but to no avail.
